Adair and Hazlewood

The Adair and Hazelwood Towers project in West London was a large-scale recladding scheme designed to improve fire safety, thermal performance, and long-term durability. The works involved the complete replacement of the external façade, along with essential structural upgrades and the installation of modern safety systems.
This comprehensive refurbishment was carried out to bring the towers in line with the latest building regulations, while also meeting strict resident safety requirements.

Our Role and Services
• Delivered a comprehensive façade recladding and refurbishment package, including:
• Removal of existing cladding.
• Installation of a new A1-rated terracotta tile rainscreen system with mineral wool insulation.
• Replacement of all external windows and balcony doors.
• Roof replacement works at Hazelwood Tower.
• Balcony upgrades, repairs, and safety improvements.
• Fire safety works including smoke vent installation and fire-stopping.
• Structural and enabling works such as concrete/brick repairs, external M&E works, and lightning protection.

Materials and Technologies Used
• Clay terracotta tiles – forming the external A1-rated rainscreen cladding.
• Mineral wool insulation – non-combustible and high-performing.
• Sub-frame support system – to securely fix the rainscreen cladding to the tower structure.
• Modern replacement windows – designed for energy efficiency, security, and durability.
• Balcony doors and treatments – pigeon netting, new finishes, and safety upgrades.
• Roof replacement system – ensuring long-term weather protection.
• Smoke vent system – installed for improved fire safety and smoke extraction.
• Fire-stopping and fire-rated materials – integrated with façade penetrations and M&E systems.
