Celestial House, a high-rise residential building in Tower Hamlets, underwent a full façade recladding programme to replace unsafe cladding, enhance fire safety, and improve overall performance.
The works were delivered in line with the latest UK building safety regulations, ensuring compliance, durability, and minimal disruption to residents.
Our Role & Services Provided
Mardani Façade provided a complete recladding and remediation service for Celestial House, including:
• Façade removal and replacement with fully compliant cladding systems.
• Specialist installation services with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Full quality control and compliance management throughout the 52-week programme.
Materials & Technologies Used
• A1/A2 fire-rated cladding systems – non-combustible and fully compliant.
• Non-combustible insulation – delivering enhanced thermal and fire performance.
• Fire-stopping and cavity barriers – installed at floor levels, service penetrations, and window openings.
Challenges & Solutions
The project required careful planning and execution to manage both compliance and community considerations:
• Fire Safety Non-Compliance: Addressed through the installation of new A1/A2-rated façade systems, complete with fire-stopping and cavity barriers.
• Live, Occupied High-Rise: Works were phased floor by floor to ensure resident safety and minimise disruption.
